Paris, je t'aime

One of my favorite parts of Paris; the food!

Photo shoot in the streets of Paris.

Underside of the Eiffel Tower, of course.

Being a tourist.

The French are rude and snotty. Well, the French don't think so and they'd like to prove it to you.

A group of friendly Parisians have come together to show tourist around Paris - for free! These Paris Greeters, as they are called, speak many different languages and are local volunteers who are eager to show their Paris flavor to others.

"The visits are as eclectic as Paris' neighborhoods. Some greeters will ride bicycles around town with you. Others will help you sift through antique shops, let you in to local artists' studios, or have you taste the best pastries in the city," said a representative from this group in an MSN article.

"City officials wanted to change the image tourists have of Parisians," said Dominique Cotta, president of the Paris Greeters.

As somebody who visited Paris this past summer I experienced Parisians are warm, sophisticated, and fun. "You cannot confused elegance with snobbery." So true.

That being said, I am pleased to hear that the city of Paris is taking this reputation by the horns and turning it around. Magnifique!
