Well, Well, Well.

One of my favorite artists, Duffy, has a new album out that is really lovely. Check out her first single, "Well, Well, Well."

"Too Hurt To Dance" is one of the first ballads on the album. In true Duffy style, the lyrics are powerful and heart felt.

My suspicions tell me "Keeping My Baby" will be her second single. It's really, really catchy.

For more music from Duffy, check out her new CD "Endlessly." Enjoy!

Dreamy.

Coco + James // Short film from Americana Cinema on Vimeo.

This video is just so dreamy and beautiful. I don't even know these people and it made me sniffle.

Poppy Love Songs.

I'm a big sucker for poppy love songs. It also doesn't hurt that Bruno Mars is devilishly handsome. Plus, any guy that wears old-school oxfords is ok in my book.

Coldplay Christmas.

If you know me, you know how much I love Coldplay. They're one of my all-time favorite bands. Their new single, Christmas Lights is really sweet and perfect for this time of year. Enjoy, loves!

NYE.

The holidays are upon us and you know what that
means; New Year's Eve and other holiday cocktail parties.
How about this uh-mazing tulip dress? The full skirt is insane.

One of the biggest trends this season is sequins. And when
better to wear sequins than while watching the ball drop?

The one-shoulder dress trend is still going strong. And
let's face it, black is always flattering. Plus, it's only $83. Score!

My NYE dress looks nearly identical to one of the above dresses.

Can you guess which one?

What's My Name?

Princess RiRi is really crankin' out the hits for her album, Loud. I am really digging her second single, What's My Name? It's got this fantastic Caribbean feel to it that I really like. Keep 'em coming, RiRi!

PS: Loving that Drake is in this song. Didn't they use to briefly date? Hmmm.

Oprah's Favorite Things.

If you know me, you know that I live for Oprah. Oprah's Favorite Things is, hands down, the most entertaining show of the year. This year was no exception, as Oprah really pulled out the stops for one last Favorite Things episode. Nothing is more entertaining than watching the lucky guests scream in delight, cry out loud, praise Jesus, jump up and down and generally tweak out over the gifts they are receiving. Check out 5:17 in the second video for my fave Oprah-tweak-out.

God, I love her.

Royal Engagement.

It's official; Prince William has proposed to long-time girlfriend Kate Middleton. William gave Kate his mother's engagement ring; a stunning sapphire and diamond ring. "It's my mother's engagement ring, so of course it's very special to me, and Kate's now very special to me, so it was only right to put the two together," said William during his interview.

As the wife of a royal duke and prince, Kate will assume the title of duchess as well as Royal Highness. Kate will also assume her official duties shortly after she is married. Prince William is planning to introduce her to these duties slowly to avoid the depression suffered by his late mother when she joined the Royal Family.

This wedding is going to be insane. Let's hope it's televised. Better yet, let's hope I get an invite!

Only Girl.

I've got Rihanna's "Only Girl" on serious repeat lately.

PS: How are we feeling about RiRi's uber-red hair? Love it or leave it?

The Parker.

What would be more fab than to stay in The Parker in
Palm Springs? Nothing. The Parker, designed by Jonathan Adler,
boasts quirky, modernist style with a lot of 60's inspiration.

I vacationed in Palm Springs years ago and it's an interesting and
eclectic vacation town with a lot of old Hollywood history.
So, let's stay at The Parker next time around? K?

Fashion Inspiration.

Karla from Karla's Closet is, hands down, one of
my favorite fashion bloggers. It doesn't hurt that
she is gorgeous and very photogenic!

I'm a big fan of Denny from Denny's World.
His style is really playful and he credits old school
Michael Cane as his biggest fashion inspiration.

Le Blog de Betty is a fabulous blogger from France
whose style is very Parisian and edgy. Tres chic!

I hope these bloggers inspire you as much as they
do me. At the very least, for some fashion eye-candy!

Where Is My Phone?!

I cannot even tell you how many times I lose my
phone in a given week! I Can't Find My Phone is this
terrific website where you type in your phone number
and it calls your phone. I tried it and it works! Genius!

Monster.

I am really loving Kanye West's newest single, Monster, right now. The best part of this song is, hands down, Nicki Minaj's part at 3:36. She kills it. She puts Kanye, Rick Ross and Jay-Z to shame.

I love Nicki Minaj. She is such a good rapper and so hot right now and like she says in the song, she doesn't even have an album out yet. "So, let me get this straight wait I’m the rookie/But my features and my shows ten times your pay/50k for a verse no album out!"

Halloween Recap.

Andrew and I dressed up as Pauly D
and Snooki from Jersey Shore. There was fist
pumping, Jagermeister and bronzer. Seriously,
Halloween is way too much fun to not dress up!

Confronting Life.

I stumbled across this video and article and thought it was really powerful; a man confronts a couple of abortion protesters after he and his wife enter a clinic to abort their near-stillborn child.

Halloween.

Just putting together my Halloween costume...
Pictured: Black wig, white hair clip, pink slippers,
hoop earrings, and press on nails. Can't wait!

Whip My Hair.

Have you seen Whip My Hair by Willow Smith? This girl (daughter of Will Smith) is only 9 years old. How insane is that? She is quite the little fashionista too!

Jamaica Recap.

I'm back from Jamaica; tan and rested.

Our resort was gorgeous and the water was so warm for sailing,
snorkeling and wind surfing. The wind surfing was all Andrew.

Hey, the pool was warm too. The swim-up bar didn't hurt either.

We went zip lining through the jungle. There were nine zip
lines and the longest one was the length of two football fields.

Love my goofy grin, huh?

Cheesin'.

We did a tour of Bob Marley's home town.

One love.

Vintage Eye Candy.

I love every photograph of Jackie O, but especially
love this one. Wouldn't you just love to be Caroline?

Sometimes I forget how iconic Goldie Hawn is. I
swear, she has not aged a day. She is so bright-eyed.

Did you know that Audrey Hepburn had a pet fawn?

The aftermath of the birthday party bus; cupcakes!

Seriously, how fabulous is this girl?!

Vacation Must Haves.

I'm going on vacation soon and have been thinking
about what I need to pack. What is more fun than planning
your vacation? Nothing! Well, except maybe the vacation itself.

Here are some vacation must haves:

How about a colorful tote for your carry on?
It would double well for your towel and sunscreen
while sitting on the beach.

Add a straw fedora to your vacation outfit rotation
for instant cool. Check out this fedora hair guide for
some tips on how to rock this look effortlessly.

If you're anything like me, you need a little effort and a
little product for sexy beach hair. Fekkai Coiff Oceanique
Tousled Wave Spray seems to be the product of choice for this
laid back hair style that looks effortless and casual.

A good swim cover up; perfect for lounging
around the beach with a big ol' umbrella drink.

This vacation can't come soon enough!

Gaga Recap.

Ready for the concert! Regrettably, I wasn't able to do
a hair bow because I was having a dreadful hair day. Bummer.

Gaga just pulled these hidden pianos out of nowhere, including a car
on stage. She seriously rocked the piano; even with her shoes.

She had a lot to say about gay rights. "What am I supposed to do?
Prance around on stage in a bra and panties and not stand for anything?"

She did, in fact, prance around in a leather bra and panties.
Her body was sick. I mean, bounce-a-quarter-off-her-butt-sick.

Always the diva in her eccentric costumes.

Covered in "blood," of course.

Shooting fire out of her bra, naturally.

Some things I learned about Lady Gaga 1) She really, really loves her fans.
2) Home girl can sing like whoa. 3) Love her or hate her, she is totally
comfortable in her own skin and wants you to be comfortable in yours.
The message of the night was all about love and loving yourself.

What I'm Loving Now.

Thrift store jewelry finds, such as this amazing
Libra necklace compliments of my friend Sophia.

Hilarious coloring books geared towards diva-like
adults like moi! Thank you, U Street, for your fun finds.

Cocktail rings and lilac nail polish.
Oh, and long overdue manicures too!

Emmy Dress Recap.

The 2010 Emmys have come and gone but the gossip surrounding the ladies'
dresses certainly has not. So, who turned it out? One of my top picks is Glee's
Lea Michelle. She chose a strapless Oscar De Le Renta number. Navy blue looks
divine on her, and the overstated necklace is lovely. I could have used a few less
ruffles, but I'll let it fly. I also loved Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Narciso Rodriguez gown, which
was both age appropriate and still sexy. The bright green jewelry made this outfit.

Claire Danes wore an insane Armani Prive gown. I am usually
hesitant of all over sparkles, but this just oozes Hollywood glamour. Thank
God she got some sun, otherwise this color would have seriously washed her out.
No major jewelry was needed with such a sparkly dress, although she is wearing
small gold earrings. Who were your favorites? Fashion disasters?

PS: Does Susan Sarandon ever age? Killer body and gown! Va va voom!

Summer Jams.

Katy Perry's latest single, Teenage Dream, has been blasting from my car for the last few weeks. I know everybody's summer anthem has been Katy's California Gurls, but this is my summer jam. I can't get enough of it!

Just Love.

Just love. That's all.

Sprucing Things Up.

Renting can be challenging sometimes. As a renter, there is only so
much you can do to your home to spruce things up. Sometimes adding
a few new touches can make a big difference. I recently bought new lamps
(thanks, Pier 1 Imports) in an effort to jazz things up a bit.

New curtains are an easy addition to make. It's a work
in progress! New prints for the walls are next!

DIY Project.

I have needed a new dresser for awhile now. Truth be
told, it needed to be sturdy because I have a lot of clothes. Here
is the before picture after a bit of sanding. It's a perfectly fine
dresser, but a bit woodsy/plain looking for my bedroom.

It look five coats of paint. I mean, how insane is that?
I also added glass knobs. I'm very pleased with how it turned
out and it suits my bedroom decor much better.

Perfecting the Hair Bow.

Oh, you know... Just perfecting my hair bow for the Lady
Gaga concert. Up next? Actually purchasing tickets.

Update: I got tickets!

Ahoy Matey!

Andrew and I spent the night on a sailboat in Annapolis this weekend.

There was a sunset sail, which was beautiful.

It was fun learning about sailing and hearing about the Captain's voyages around
the world. Fresh breakfast on the boat the next morning didn't hurt either.
