Karl's Blog

If you love/hate Karl Lagerfeld like I do, then you may be interested in this quirky little blog by "Karl Lagerfeld" himself. Hear "Karl" bitch about Anna Wintour, the 80's, Rachel Zoe (ugh), and Christian Siriano from Project Runway.

"BRING ME A GIN AND TONIC. I AM SO NAUSEOUS I COULD FIRE ALL OF YOU RIGHT NOW FOR EXISTING."

Oh, to be be rich and bitchy.

Enjoy.

Duffy Is It.

If you haven't heard of Duffy yet, you MUST. This girl is amazing. I am really, really feelin' her latest single, Warwick Avenue. Check it out. She really gets goin' around 2:20.

Mercy, Breaking My Own Heart, and Rockferry are all must-listens too.

What Marc Wants

I was delighted to find that W Magazine did a piece on Marc Jacbos. I adore Marc Jacobs and his man-candiness. Yes, I know he's gay. Obviously.

None the less, the article is about Marc's new love for collecting artwork. As a young "professional'"I have recently started thinking about beginning my own art collection. Not Pottery Barn "art" or the like, but original art. The kind of art you have to have.

"One day in 2002, Marc Jacobs was distractedly flipping through a Christie’s auction catalog when he came across Kilimnik’s Mary Calling Up a Storm (1996), a portrait of a dark-haired young woman. For some reason, the 18- by 13-inch canvas called out to the designer, who’d never before purchased a work of art. Despite his rank as one of the world’s most influential style setters—he’s been artistic director at Louis Vuitton for the past decade and has had his own label since 1994—Jacobs always harbored an inferiority complex when it came to the art world; in galleries he was generally too intimidated to speak to the assistant, let alone the dealer.

“I had in my mind that only incredibly grand, extremely wealthy people lived with art of any sort,” he says.

I think some of my first pieces will probably be photographs. Or perhaps, vintage Vogues. That would be divine.

Another Fashion Disaster

Mariah Carey, you are not 16 years old. It's not 1998, either. You are a very rich woman, find a stylist.

There is absolutely nothing fashion-forward about Mariah Carey's choice in ensembles. How does Nick Cannon deal with this?!

Mariah Carey is the worst dressed celebrity in Hollywood. She, Amy Winehouse, Tyra Banks and Britney Spears.

Ugh, this just upsets me on so many levels.

GET A STYLIST. NOW.

Oh, Michael Savage.

I am so utterly sick of ignorant people like Michael Savage. His stupidity is maddening.

Brenda is Back!

Brenda Walsh, otherwise known as Shannon I-Get-Kicked-Off-Every-Show-I-Work-With Doherty is returning to the Beverly Hills 90210 2.0! Officially.

Doherty left 90210 in 1994 due to a series of brawls and complaints.

The new Beverly Hills just got a lot juicier. Screw Jennie Garth, this is gunna be good.

Dolce, Dolce, Dolce

Oh, Dolce and Gabbana.
I saw this advertisement while in Italy and thought I would share. The bright blue color of the water, the extremely sun-glistened models, the Italian music. Check, check, check. If this isn't effective advertising then I don't know what is.

I generally really like D&G advertisements, which are usually edgy, sexy, over-the-top and often quite controversial. My women's lit professor goes ape-shit over their ads.

This one is pretty hilarious.

However, I'm not sure I really understand D&G's use of Matthew McConaughey in their ad for "The One." McConaughey is just so not D&G. He's Old Spice and wood chips. I mean, really.

None the less, enjoy the above ads. Yum!

'Lil Video

I've got my new job on my mind a lot lately so this sweet, little video really resonates with me.

Maybe I'll make one. I'd like to peel back some layers too.

You Can't Make This Shiz Up

In order to commemorate President Bush's eight years in office a sewage plant has decided to name their plant the "George W. Bush Sewage Plant."

Not so fast. The name must be voted on in upcoming November ballot.

If passed, the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant would be renamed the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.

"Supporters say the idea is to commemorate the mess they claim Bush has left behind by actions such as the war in Iraq." says a CNN article.

Hilarious.

I'm Back!

I'm back, ladies and gents. I've been back for about a week but have been busy with weddings, interviews (am newly employed!) and jetlag.

It's good to be back but boy, I miss Europe already.

My trip included stops in London, Paris, Monaco, Florence, Venice and Rome. Each city was so different than the others but Paris and Venice were absolutely my faves.

The Colleseum in Rome, Italy

Venice, Italy

The picturesque Eiffel Tower

You can check out my many, many pictures via Facebook here.

Where should I go next? I'm thinking Thailand!
