I decided to drag Andrew out of bed Saturday morning to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We headed to Eastern Market to check out the local vendors and enjoy the sunshine.
The produce was amazing and there were samples everywhere to snack on. Aren't these carrots enormous?
Everything looked so fresh and delicious.
The markets were full of hand-made crafts and art.
My handsome boyfriend patiently waiting for our food at Toki Underground. We arrived promptly at 5pm when the doors opened and still had to wait 45 minutes.
We ordered pan-fried pork dumplings and chicken curry ramen. The broth was so flavorful and unique tasting.
The decor was a mix of kitsch, colorful, and modern with small tokidoki figurines everywhere. I highly recommend this place - just be prepared to wait!
Horray! Fiona Apple is releasing a new album this year. I love her biting honesty and beautiful, sometimes angsty lyrics.
Her last album, Extraordinary Machine, came out in 2005 and was my anthem at the time. It's about time for some new music from Miss Fiona - long overdue!
I have a confession, guys. I get the winter blues. The gray skies and rain are just so blah. I have been day dreaming about warmer weather. These color-block sandals are going on my 'must have' list for the spring.
Bright colors with feminine fabrics pretty much sum up warmer weather to me. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for dresses sans tights, thankyouverymuch.
Something tells me mint is going to be the color this spring. I am loving mint nails and this "mermaid manicure" is just too cute.
Madonna versus Gaga. Gaga versus Madonna. Ohh, the oldest rivalry known to gay men everywhere. Ok, that's a lie. But, it's certainly a topic of conversation since the debut of Gaga's pop melodies and eccentric antics. Gaga has admitted on many occasions that Madonna is an inspiration to her (no doubt), but what does Madge think of this?
During a recent interview Madonna is asked what she thinks about Gaga and "Born this Way." Her reply? "It feels reductive," otherwise known as simplified or crude.
Is Madonna justified in being (clearly) pissed? What are your thoughts, dolls?
PS: How about a Madonna/Gaga collaboration?! That, my friends, would be pop genius.
Mariah's "All I Want For Christmas" is the most played Christmas song. Not surprising, considering I played this at least fifty times in the month of December...
