Grey Gardens: High-Society Gone Mad!

If you happen to love Jackie O as much as I do, then you're equally excited about Grey Gardens premiering on HBO on April 18th featuring Jessica Lang and Drew Barrymore.

Grey Gardens is about the infamous duo, Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale (Jackie's aunt) and Edith Bouvier Beale (Jackie's first cousin), the eccentric, socialite pair who went mad in their Long Island summer home.

Who has HBO? I am dying to see this!

Amen, Sister!

Personal finance expert, Suze Orman, is mighty angry at old Georgie boy. Suze recently sounded off on George Bush by blaming the ex-president for the financial crisis.

"You blew up every single financial vessel we had and if you think you aren't personally responsible, well, the blame starts at the top. There is no higher top than you, SIR! If I were you, I would feel so absolutely horrific that I would take every penny I had and distribute it to anybody and everybody to help them in whatever way I could. You owe the American people every penny of your fortune and your family's fortune."

Now, that's a woman with an opinion. I love it!

Plus-Sized?

Meghan McCain, John McCain's daughter and political blogger, has been the target some of unkind words recently regarding her weight. Meghan's weight was first scrutinized by radio personality, Laura Ingraham, who said she was “too plus-sized to be a cast member on the television show The Real World."

Meghan is a size 8.

"My weight was consistently criticized throughout the campaign. Once someone even suggested I go to a plastic surgeon for liposuction. Afterward, I blogged about loving my body and suggested critics focus their insecurities about women’s bodies elsewhere. On the other side, my mother was constantly slammed for being too skinny, so the weight obsession of the media and our culture goes both ways. It also goes to both parties."

I've seen pictures of Meghan McCain and let me tell you, she is not plus-sized in my book. I'm so tired of all the weight-commentary. Last time I checked Meghan was not a professional model. What does Meghan's weight have to do with anything?

Whoops!

Fashion Week has come and gone and this year there were a
lot of tumbles on the catwalk. ABC News put together this hilarious
little slideshow high-lighting some of the week's worst tumbles.

Me thinks these designers either need to
A) Get better models or B) Pass on the 4 inch heels!

Natasha Richardson.

Natasha Richardson has reportedly died after a tragic ski accident. I loved Natasha in The Parent Trap, didn't you? Rest in peace.

Update: Now the news is saying she is brain dead. Who knows!

Jetset Stays.

I have been a really lucky little girl. I have stayed in some fabulous hotels,
including some of those listed below. But, I have a bunch more I'd like to stay in,
including the infamous Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles and The Ritz Paris
The Ritz Paris, ie: former home of Coco Chanel

Infamous Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles
Some places I stayed in last summer:

Hotel La Porte de Monaco

I'd also like to stay at Burg Hohenstein.

Where are you dying to stay?

The Pope Is An Idiot. Strike Me Down Now.

Honestly, I just can't understand this. The Pope seems to believe
that condoms are not the answer in fighting AIDS in Africa.

"You can't resolve it with the distribution of condoms. On the
contrary, it increases the problem," said the Pope on his way to Africa today.
In fact, the Pope (not surprisingly) suggests abstinence in the fight against AIDS.

This is just more proof that the Vatican is irrelevant.
Who put this guy in power? Oh right, God did.

Scary Stats.

"At least 3 percent of District residents have HIV or AIDS, a total that far surpasses the 1 percent threshold that constitutes a "generalized and severe epidemic," according to The Washington Post.

That's 2,984 people for every 100,000 over the age of 12. In fact, DC's HIV/AIDS rate is higher than countries like Kenya, Uganda, and West Africa.

This doesn't come close to home, it is home.

There's no excuse for this. Get tested.

Save Anna!

This t-shirt has been out for awhile, so it's not exactly
hot-off-the-press or anything... But, I really want this t-shirt.
Love it!
